“Russia’s Alien Nations” is the completely unofficial title for a set of three books that I’m working on.

The first, Soviet Self-Hatred: The Secret Identities of Postsocialism, used to be called Russia’s Alien Nations. I am in the process of editing it and submitting to a press. The draft form, originally serialized as a blog, can be found here.

The second, Unstuck in Time: On the Post-Soviet Uncanny, began serialization as a blog in June 2021.

The third, Unidentified Russian Objects: On Soviet Melancholy, will begin at a later date.
